Gastroesophagial Reflux Disease (GERD), Duodenal ulcer, NSAID associated ulcer, Zollinger-Ellision Syndrome.
• Severe erosive GERD
Adult: 40 mg once daily for 4 wk, extended for another 4 wk if necessary. For maintenance without severe oesophagitis: 20 mg daily.
• Peptic ulcer
Adult: 20 mg bid for 7 days or 40 mg once daily for 10 days given as a triple therapy with amoxicillin and clarithromycin.
• NSAID-associated ulceration
Adult: 20 mg once daily for 4-8 wk.
• Zollinger-Ellison syndrome
Adult: Initially, 40 mg twice daily. Usual range: 80-160 mg daily. Doses >80 mg should be given in 2 divided doses.
Known hypersensitivity to esomeprazole, any ingredient in the formulation, or other substituted benzimidazoles (e.g., lansoprazole, omeprazole, pantoprazole, rabeprazole).
In severe hepatic impairment, bone fracture, hypomagnesemia.
Headache, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea, flatulence, dries mouth, constipation, hyponatraemia, photosensitivity, angioedema, anaphylaxis.
Store it at or below 25°C in the original package to protect it from light and moisture.
