The NPL Social Welfare Organization (NPLSWO) is a non-profit, non-governmental, humanitarian, social organization that aims to create a healthy life and a prosperous society. NPL Social Welfare Organization was established in 2058 B.S. by the initiative of NPL (Nepal Pharmaceutical Laboratory) PVT. LTD. and its initiating chairman, the late Mr. Dolendra Bahadur Amatya. The AGM of 2073 authorized the organization's responsibility to be transferred to Ms. Minoo Amatya Piya as Executive Chairman. Ms. Minoo Piya Amatya reformed the Board members of the NPL Social Welfare Organization and started action research, preventive awareness, humanitarian, social work and developmental activities in 2074 B.S. NPL-SWO was registered in Social Welfare Council in 2074 B.S . The NPL Social Welfare Organization has been actively conducting various health activities that can help to uplift the health status of people in Nepal. NPLSWO has adopted Welfare and Development Approach work with local government and local related organization.
NPLSWO has already screened more than 50,000 people in Nepal to determine the current scenario of diabetes and hypertension. After screening people, we conduct various health promotion and awareness programs to let them know the current situation of diabetes, hypertension, and possible complications.
We are working on a holistic approach; we work on various social and humanitarian issues, and along with that, we also work on disaster relief. We believe in providing skill and a market for them to earn money and utilize their skills. In developing communities, only health education or screening is not enough.
We are focusing more on making people aware of the complications of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and educating them about proper techniques to reduce the burden of disease. We have conducted a health awareness program in various communities, coordinating with other local organizations and experts. We are conducting action research for various NCDs.
We are working in the various health fields, specifically hypertension and diabetes, in various parts of Nepal. We have conducted camps in different places, such as Kathmandu valley, Birgunj, Chitwan, Udaypur, Saptari, Bandipur and other places to give them proper awareness education to prevent or decrease the burden of disease.
We also work for humanitarian and natural disaster issue. We have distributed clothes and food for flood victims, tents for hurricane victims etc. We have distributed almost 70 lakh worth P.P.E all over Nepal with coordination of health ministry.
We are focusing more on making people aware of the complications of non-communicable diseases (NCD) and educating them about proper techniques to reduce the burden of disease. We are conducting health awareness programs in various communities, coordinating with other local organizations and experts. Conducting a free health camp and distributing medicine to needy people. Providing scholarships and infrastructure to underprivileged children and schools.
