NPL has evolved from a reliable producer of Dosage Forms to a process-driven and research-focused company. NPL has consistently investing in the R&D for decades.

These research areas are supported by our best in class formulation and analytical research laboratories. R&D facilities comprise of modern infrastructure. All the activities in these laboratories are performed as per GMP, GLP, SOP’s and WHO guidelines.

Based in Birgunj, the facility has a range of state-of-the-art equipment for formulation development, working on different dosage forms such as tablets, capsules, powders, pellets, oral liquid-solution/suspension/emulsion, topical creams / ointments / lotions / gels, sterile eye drops / suspension / solution and injectable-dry powder and wet injections.

Our core strength lies in our ability to excel in developing differentiated products backed by our dedicated teams in formulations development and analytical development. This has helped in building a competitive advantage. NPL’s R&D effort is aligned with our enterprise goal — to bring affordable, quality medicines to market in order to address unmet patient needs.

Formulation Development

NPL is focused on developing solid, liquid, semi-solid, sterile and ophthalmic dosage forms. In solid oral dosage forms, NPL has capability of developing Tablets, Capsules, Creams, Ointments, Gel, solution, suspension, Emulsion using different manufacturing technologies for immediate as well as modified release drug delivery. In sterile dosage forms, NPL has capability of developing injectable and ophthalmic solutions. The sterile dosage forms are filled in Vials, Ampoules for injectable drug delivery and bottles used for ophthalmic drug delivery.
