When the COVID-19 first started in Nepal people had no idea about COVID-19 people were dying they didn’t had proper protection for doctor’s and front liners everyone was scared and horrified, Going to work during this COVID-19 pandemic has placed frontline workers under immense and unprecedented pressure, putting their physical, mental and social well-being at risk. Exposure to excessive stress, for prolonged periods can have many harmful consequences on the emotional and mental well-being of frontline workers.

Even front liners didn’t had sufficient knowledge about COVID-19, they were scared because they didn’t had proper protection to save themselves while saving others.

Which could have many consequences such as

• Lead to burnout.
• Trigger the onset of common mental disorders such as depression and anxiety or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
• Result in unhealthy behaviors like using tobacco, alcohol or other substances, which may lead to substance use disorders.
• Result in frequent absence from work or reduced productivity while at work.
• Increase the risk of suicide among frontline workers, particularly health care workers.

In the context of COVID-19, this may mean compromised quality and safety of care, breach of protocols and guidelines, increased risk of infections, and compromised capacity of the health system and emergency response teams.

In order to protect our front liners, NPL social welfare organization brought 75 lakh worth P.P.E from China for protection of our frontliners.

Then NPL social welfare organization with help of NPL and its MR we were able to distribute all those P.P.E to hospital allotted by health ministry.
