Chitwan Mahotsab -2075 as its 12th Edition was held in Narayani exhibition ground, Narayani river bank, Chitwan. They Especially focused on the exportable Nepalese products based on agriculture, handicraft, floriculture, apiculture, poultry, and products of medium and large scale industries as well. More than 5 hundred exhibitors participated in the program and more than five hundred thousand visitors observed the carnival. Chitwan Mahotsab, the biannual event has played a key role in protecting and enhancing the economic activities of Chitwan district and inspired the local entrepreneurs to put forth their best in a grand display of their skills, entrepreneurship, and competence. The Mahotsab is an essence of mutual cooperation between local organizations and authorities, breeding understanding as well as a unity of purpose in Chitwan’s development.

NPL Social Welfare organization participated as the health sector for Chitwan mohatsab where were able to screen more than 400 people we were also able to provide first aid facilities, awareness of diabetes and blood pressure through pamphlets and flex.

Result

From screening more than 400 people in Chitwan mohatsab we found out that Most of the people had normal blood pressure 7.9% of them diagnosed with prehypertension, hypertension stage 1 where as 17.4% of were screened as pre diabetic and diabetic.

Observation

Chitwan mohatsab was participated by people of different caste and culture. We helped many people in screening of diabetes and blood pressure . people who never new about NCDs also were screened blood pressure and blood sugar. Through this screening we were able to provide service to economically deprived people as well.

We also provided health education and awareness about diabetes , hypertension to interested people through flex and personal counselling as well. We were providing health services such as first aid to people injured during mohatsab as well.
