Acute spasm, as in renal or biliary chronic, in radiology for differential diagnosis of obstruction. Reduction in spasm & pain and in other diagnostic procedures.
Adult: 20 mg IM or IV repeated after ½ hr. Max: 100 mg.
Hyoscine Butylbromide is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity. Paralytic ileus or pyloric stenosis, closed- or narrow-angle glaucoma, porphyria. Children <12 yr.
Hyoscine butylbromide can cause tachycardia, hypotension and anaphylaxis, therefore use with caution in patients with cardiac conditions such as cardiac failure, coronary heart disease, cardiac arrhythmia or hypertension and in cardiac surgery. Monitoring of these patients is advised.
Dry mouth, increased viscosity of bronchial secretions, vision disorders, diminution of lachrymal secretion, tachycardia, palpitations, constipation, urinary retention, excitement, irritability, mental confusion in elderly.
Store at room temperature (below 30°C). Protect from light.
