  • Community-acquired pneumonia (mild severity)
  • Pharyngitis/tonsillitis (second line therapy)
  • Skin/skin structure (uncomplicated)
  • Acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (mild to moderate)
  • Acute bacterial sinusitis
  • Genital ulcer disease (chancroid)
  • Non-gonococcal urethritis and cervicitis
  • Gonococcal urethritis and cervicitis
  • Community-acquired pneumonia (mild severity): 500 mg as a single dose for 5 days
  • Pharyngitis/tonsillitis (second line therapy): 500 mg as a single dose for 5 days
  • Skin/skin structure (uncomplicated):500 mg as a single dose for 5 days
  • Acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (mild to moderate): 500 mg QD x 3 days
  • Acute bacterial sinusitis: 500 mg QD x 3 days
  • Genital ulcer disease (chancroid): One single 1-gram dose
  • Non-gonococcal urethritis and cervicitis: One single 1-gram dose
  • Gonococcal urethritis and cervicitis: One single 2-gram dose

Contraindicated in patients with a history of cholestatic jaundice/hepatic dysfunction associated with prior use of azithromycin.

Discontinue if allergic reaction, signs & symptoms of hepatitis occur. Prolonged cardiac repolarization & QT interval. Diabetes or renal impairment. Superinfection or Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea.

Mild neutropenia, hearing impairment, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loose stools, abdominal discomfort (pain/cramps), flatulence, abnormal liver function, allergic reactions including rash and angioedema. Infusion Local pain & inflammation at site of infusion.

Store in cool and dry place. Protect from light and moisture.
