  • MIROCIN topical ointment is indicated for the topical treatment of primary and secondary bacterial skin infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus and other susceptible organisms.
  • Primary skin infections: Impetigo, furuncles (boils), folliculitis
  • Secondary infections: Infected dermatoses, infected traumatic lesions e.g., abrasions or stitches, insect bites, minor wounds and burns.
  • A small amount of Mirocin Ointment (mupirocin) should be applied to the affected area three times daily. The area treated may be covered with gauze if desired. Patients not showing a clinical response within 3 to 5 days should be re-evaluated. In case of secondary skin infection, the ointment should be applied to the affected area four times daily for 10 days.

Hypersensitivity to mupirocin or polyethylene glycol.

Mucosal surfaces of eye; renal impairment; extensive burns or open wounds. Pregnancy, lactation, children <3 mth.

Burning, stinging, or pain; itching; rash , nausea , erythema , dry skin, tenderness, swelling ,contact dermatitis. Systemic reactions to Mirocin Ointment (mupirocin) have occurred rarely.

Do not store above 25°C.
