Eczema (Atopic Dermatitis; a skin disease that causes the skin to be dry and itchy and to sometimes develop red, scaly rashes) in patients who cannot use other medications for their condition or whose eczema has not responded to another medication.
Apply thin layer to affected area twice daily. Discontinue treatment when symptoms have cleared. If no improvement within 6 weeks, reassess diagnosis.
- This medicine is not approved for use in children younger than 2 years of age.
- Skin areas that have cancers or pre-cancers, a skin disease called Netherton’s syndrome, other skin problems that may weaken the skin, a skin infection (including chicken pox or herpes), or a weak immune system.
- Signs of an allergic reaction, like rash; hives; itching; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin with or without fever; wheezing; tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.
- Signs of kidney problems like unable to pass urine, change in how much urine is passed, blood in the urine, or a big weight gain.
- Fever, Ear pain, signs of skin infection like oozing, heat, swelling, redness, or pain, skin lump or growth, swollen gland, muscle pain.
- Stinging, burning, soreness, or itching in the area of treated skin may occur during the first few days of treatment.
- Headache, acne, “hair-bumps” (folliculitis), stomach upset, flu-like symptoms (e.g., fever, chills, runny nose, sore throat, muscle aches), or increased sensitivity of the skin to hot, cold, pain, touch may also occur.
Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight.
