- Corneal Ulcers
- Conjunctivitis
- Superficial infections of the eyes and adnexa(part)caused by susceptible strains of bacteria.
- Otitis externa, acute otitis media, chronic otitis media, and prophylaxis in otic surgeries such as mastoid surgery.
Corneal Ulcers
- The recommended dosage regimen for the treatment of corneal ulcers is two drops into the affected eye every 15 minutes for the first 6 hours and then two drops into the affected eye every 30 minutes for the remainder of day 1.
- On day 2, instill two drops in the affected eye hourly. On day 3 through day 14, place two drops in the affected eye every 4hours. Treatment may be continued after 14 days if corneal re-epithelialization has not occurred.
Bacterial Conjunctivitis
- The recommended dosage regimen for the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis is one or two drops instilled into the conjunctival sac(s) every 2 hours, while awake, for 2 days and one or two drops every 4 hours, while awake, for the next 5 days.
Superficial Ocular Infection
- The usual dose is one or two drops in the affected eye(s) four times a day. In severe infections, the dosage for the first 2 days may be one or two drops every 2 hours during waking hours.
- For either indication, a maximum duration of therapy of 21 days is recommended.
Ears Infection
- For all infections, 2-3 drops every 2-3 hours initially, reducing the frequency of the instillation with control of infection.
Hypersensitivity to Ciprofloxacin or any other component of the medication. Additionally, history of hypersensitivity to other quinolones may also contraindicate the use of ciprofloxacin.
Prolonged use of Ciprofloxacin may result in overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms, including fungi. If superinfection occurs, appropriate therapy should be initiated. Ciprofloxacin should be discontinued at the first appearance of a skin rash or any other sign of hypersensitivity reaction.
- Burning or other discomfort of the eye.
- Custing or crystals in corner of the eye.
Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight.
Direction for Use
Wash your hands before and after use. Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Instill the number of drops advised by the doctor into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes.
